Patients will typically be referred to our surgeons from their GP or other medical specialist with one of the following medical conditions:
Brisbane Breast and Endocrine surgeons regularly perform surgical procedures on the breast, thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal glands. We use minimally invasive and laparoscopic (keyhole) surgical methods where these are appropriate.
The specialists are able to perform ultrasound assessments of the breast and neck, needle biopsies if required, and examination of the larynx (voice box) where appropriate in relation to neck operations.
This portable ultrasound machine can be used to assess thyroid, parathyroid and breast lumps during your consultation. Ultrasound uses sound waves to image these organs and, in selected cases, it can be used to guide biopsies as a further aid to diagnosis.
This flexible laryngoscope is used to assess vocal cord function prior to thyroid or parathyroid surgery.
